Growing up in Southern California, Golden Spoon was all the rage. They had locations everywhere and were the most affordable and delicious option before the Yogurtland craziness took over. I used to frequent the Brea location for years, maybe once a week with my family. They had 15 or so flavors, probably 100 toppings and excellent service but they closed shop about 10 years ago. Golden Spoon has changed. They are franchises, first of all, so your experience will vary from location to location but the experience is pretty similar. And the experience is not so good anymore. This particular location is located in the strip mall next to the Von’s on Magnolia and Ontario. The location is actually a little hard to get to and the parking is the worst in this particular area. The shop is really small and reeks of chlorine every time I go in. They usually only have one person working but half the time they can’t figure out how to get the card reader to work or get a receipt to print. It might not be their fault, but it is discouraging. The shop is also always super hot, like 90 degrees or more. The yogurt starts to melt sitting on the counter. The yogurt is still pretty good, but I’m pretty certain the recipe has changed since I was a kid. It used to taste like real dairy, but now it tastes icier and powdery, much more like yogurtland. This place has only a few flavors and toppings, but I don’t go crazy in here so that is not a huge issue for me. The problem is the price and the experience. The price has skyrocketed in the past few years. Two large yogurts with one topping will cost you just shy of $15. Without toppings, you’ll be spending $5 on a regular and almost $6 on a large. Out of curiosity, I weighed the large and the regular once and the difference was about an ounce for almost a dollar difference. The amount of yogurt you get each time varies and they usually go pretty light altogether. They also don’t give out the loyalty cards anymore and force you to use an iPad loyalty program that uses your phone number and spams you with ads for other restaurants. The turn over has been high here and the last time I went in, I had a free regular size yogurt. I asked to pay the difference and upgrade to a large but the employee said that isn’t possible. However, I was able to do it the week before with another employee. Then they struggle to get the card reader to work and usually swipe my card multiple times and I always get nervous about being charged more than once. They should also be using a chip reader and allow the customer to do the transaction, which is much safer. The yogurt is the redeeming quality of this place. It’s a nice treat every now and then. The labor of dealing with going there and the price have kept me from enjoying it more. I’ve attached two photos to show you what it looks like after the 5 minute drive home.
Clean store, staff is so friendly, and it's golden spoon. I love to celebrate my kids for the little success they have here. It's fun since the whole family gets treated for one family members golden action. It makes the kids want to be the next kid of honor, but no one is upset when it's not them. As long as we celebrate together and at a pace where they have DOUBLE STAMP DAY! Tuesday and Thursday people, it's so worth it.
I love love looove this. Next Time I will sure to take a photo amazzzzzzinnnngggg!! The staff is so sweet and the atmosphere is so energetic. Now to the food I got vanilla (i will eventually post more flavors) eoth sprinkles and chocolate. So yummy better than icecream!!!! DEFINITELY WHERE YOU NEED TO BE!!!!
Golden Spoons is my go to frozen food desert place! My son introduced me to Golden Spoon many years ago and I’ve been in love with them ever since! The frozen treats are low sugar low fat, great for those who have medical or personal reasons for wanting healthier frozen treats. Taste is great, they do have lots of toppings you can add to your frozen yogurt, many are also healthy choices!
The Golden Spoon is amazing..!! The service is excellent and the yogurt delicious with several flavors to choose from. My fav flavor is chocolate A vast assortment of toppings to make your yogurt experience even more delectable, especially the ' HOT FUDGE ' is to die for..!! There are several sizes of cups to choose from and the prices very reasonable. I plan on coming back forever or until the cows come home. 5-17-2017 I just ate the most delicious blueberry frozen yogurt at the Corona Golden Spoon located at 469 Magnolia Ave, Corona, CA 92879 in the Von 's Center Plaza. I honestly cannot properly describe how amazing Golden Spoon 's frozen yogurt tastes. You will just have to come by and try it and decide for yourself..!!
