Babcock Story - Coronado

We thought the drinks were quite expensive, but we decided to have a drink because of the intentional and atmosphere. bad choice. both drinks, blue californian and the mai tai were literally disgusting. oh, good, enjoyed our visit at the hotel regardless of it.

This historic hotel is a treat to experience and recommend all to check out, especially if you love the beach. We ended up (party of 8) at the Babcock and Story Bar for a drink or two. Cocktails were good and their house blonde Hotel del California “Some like it blonde” ale was terrific. I highly recommend this beer. We had sodas, drinks, and a few rounds of french fries. You come here paying for location and experience (plus it’s a So. Cal. hotel so it going to be pricey). The service was ok at best. The spot appears to be understaffed and considering your paying $8 for a soda refills were tough to come by. Server was somewhat friendly but hustling around what seemed to be most of the place during a sort of busy time of day (lunch time on a Sunday). Overall a nice time and I would probably come back as it’s a special experience. If you go be prepared for lackluster service, overpriced items, and be prepared to wait…but while you wait enjoy the amazing view and great weather at this historic spot.

How do you charge $20 for a bourbon sour when:1) You stir it?!?!?2) You can’t find an egg for it?!? (Like come on there is a restaurant 10 feet away)3) You don’t use fresh lemon juiceFor how great the bar looks inside, I just wish they would get some real bartenders.

Unfortunately extremely overpriced and the waitresses only seem to look after the rich people.There isn't one drink lower than $11.We asked for 2 waters and they didn't bring them over.We felt like poor peasants sat in the corner being ignored.THIS PLACE IS FOR RICH PEOPLE ONLY.Were staying at the hotel del at the moment and cannot afford anything here!

Got charged for my drinks and some other table, mentioned it to the waiter and he said he didn't run it through and I didn't sign anything so I assumed it was fixed, NOPE today I saw 2 charges tried calling their accounting number and was on hold for over 25 min, set up for them to contact me, haven't heard back. called restaurant and spoke with management to send them an email, will contact bank if its not reversed.
