This was possibly the best meal I didn't prepare all week and it may be worth driving two hours again to enjoy this in an open dining area (not as fancy as Ruth's Chris but a much better value even when accounting for time and travel. On the way down to Gatlinburg for a few days pitching woo and we got a little snacky so we pull up to the second place we see (first was closed and we are faced with a choice between kitchy but cute italian food place or the bright pink Gigglin' Pig... Trust me on this one, always go with pink, it is the color of carnations, strawberry shakes, women's lips, properly cooked meat, and apparently dining venues. Had 1/4 chicken plus pulled porks with slaw and beans, sauce on the side. like all good slaw this was shredded, multi-colored, crunchy and flavorful in a slightly creamy base! the pork was hot and moist and smokey, chicken was tender and succulent, not the usual fat-soaked ball of burned-red-goo.
Found this place while staying at Cosby campground. We both had the regular sandwich with two sides. The pulled pork and Cole slaw were both very good, but the baked beans were even better! In the Gatlinburg area of never ending tourist traps, this is a great little find.
The food is fresh, hot, and tasty. There is no indoor seating, but there 's an outdoor covered picnic area if you want to eat on site. Prices are reasonable. We had the pulled pork, bbq beans, slaw, buns, and 4 drinks...affectionately called The Family Pig-nic. Only minor downside was that the sauce was left out of our order and we had to go back for it.
Quick and quite. Just what we needed when escaping Gatlinburg for the afternoon. Foods good, sauces are good and the service was excellent
