Restaurante Horizonte

During our stay in Caparica we visited the restaurant Horizonte 5 times. New owner of the hotel and now the restaurant is absolutely fantastic. Hard to find if you do not stay in Tryp Lisboa Caparica Mar, but it is on the top floor .. Food, wine and service could not be better. It's like a dream!!!! We are looking forward to our next holiday in Caparica next year

We stayed in the Hotel Costa da Caparica for a week and visited this hotel on the last night. I was sorry we had not visited it earlier in the week as we would have repeated the experience. We went up to the hotel on...the 8th floor and were greeted by Valter the Maitre d who really looked after us very well. We began with a drink on the balcony which is a very narrow passage outside the restaurant) and then ordered our meal. We had a lovely window table in order to see the sunset. There is a complete meal available for €23 per person and this is three courses from the a la carte menu and a drink wine, beer or soft drink). We ordered starters which were huge! I had a crab terrine with toast and my partner had a smoked salmon with mango chutney. They were both delicious, I then chose the duck dish, which had duck breast which was well cooked and flavoured and the other main course chosen was Portugese steak which was really delicious. The only fault I had with the steak dish was that the poached egg looked awful...the white was not white and very messy looking...but no fault to the taste. We had a half bottle of red wine and the desserts were the local pudim flan creme caramel) and a chocolate pudding with strawberry centre. The service was efficient and pleasant and we particularly enjoyed Valter. We spoke to him of the changes in the area he has worked in the Costa area for many years and he was very helpful with local information. It was a very pleasant evening.

Visited Costa recently and used the restaurant twice, very good food and the staff were excellent. The only negative comment would be that in the week the menu never changed. Fatama in the restaurant was very helpful.

Provavelmente porque a avaliação geral tinha sido muito boa, a minha visita ficou aquém do esperado.A comida tenta ser bem apresentada, mas o sabor não acompanha o aspeto, ficando-se pelo aceitável.O serviço foi bom mas nessa noite só havia um empregado, que fez as vezes dos dois habituais.A sala é boa mas não gostei de ver a cozinha; para serem visíveis têm de ter melhor aspeto e look "profissional". Além disso conseguíamos sentir o cheiro dos cozinhados na mesa.O piano é tocado soberbamente e é uma grande mais-valia para o ambiente calmo e relaxado.Resumindo: gostei mas não adorei, não ficou no meu top.

O restaurante Horizonte vale-se disso mesmo, de ter uma vista espectacular sobre a linha do horizonte da Costa da Caparica.O espaço é requintado e o serviço também, desde a simpatia do atendimento, até à atenção colocada em todos os pormenores; no entanto, a refeição acaba por pretender ser mais do que é. Os pratos de autor, não estavam mal, mas deixaram a sensação que poderiam estar melhor confeccionados; já as entradas, foram uma desilusão, pois num restaurante em que os preços já são consideráveis, ter couverts e entradas em que os produtos pareciam acabados de retirar duma banal embalagem, ao invés de serem frescos, não é desculpável.
