Big Belly Deli - Costa Mesa

Big Belly Deli has had its ups and downs, but it seems the challenges are behind them. Although this restaurant opened a few years ago, it didn't attract as much attention as its sister location in Newport Beach. However, after the Newport Beach location closed due to an accounting issue, the Costa Mesa branch has resumed lunch and dinner service, offering the familiar menu of sandwiches, subs, salads, and beer. While there have been concerns about customer service in the past, my recent visits have been quite positive. The only downside is that the pizzas don't quite measure up in quality given their price. Overall, I would recommend checking out Big Belly Deli.

This restaurant has been revamped and is now called Westend, your go-to spot for delicious food, great music, and a lively atmosphere! The ambiance is vibrant and trendy, featuring some familiar dishes from the previous Big Belly Deli as well as some innovative new options, catering to both vegan and meat lovers. Although the staff was still getting accustomed to the recent changes, leading to slow service during my visit, I can see a lot of promise in this place!

Big Belly Deli is an excellent hidden gem for sandwiches. The prices are reasonable, and the service is top-notch. Their menu offers a wide variety of options to satisfy everyone's tastes. It's the perfect place to stop by on your way to the beach!

We get pizza here, maybe once a week. It is the best bang for your dollar pizza in Costa Mesa. It is consistently good and fast. The chicken tastes like its cut from a real fresh chicken breast, not frozen scrap. Makes sense, as this is mainly a sandwich shop. You also have beer on tap and a BLT, the upper notch. There is also a location on PCH in Newport that we use to go when we live near the beach. It can be super busy there, so plan accordingly.

Step inside this throwback location and find some of the best sandwiches OC has to offer, John and his crew treat you like family and guide you to the right choice, but trust me, The #15 is the best! Great spot to sit and drink beer while you watch football too
