Gyutan Tsukasa U.s.a - Costa Mesa

Extremely overpriced. It was once a good spot, but the quality and portion sizes have become unacceptably small. For that price, you might as well go to a nice steakhouse instead. As for vegetarian options, there are none.

The PA speaker they use is incredibly loud and disrupts the entire food court. It's ear-piercing! I wish I could share an audio clip because it's just absurd.

I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance, but it turned out to be the perfect place for the best charcoal-grilled beef tongue. I was initially taken aback by the price, as it seemed quite expensive for a single lunch or dinner. However, I decided to treat myself to something different, and I'm glad I did! The other reviews were spot on—the beef tongue was incredibly flavorful, tender, and visually appealing. It came with white rice, pickles, wasabi, and warm beef soup. On my first visit, I tried the Gyutan set with 8 pieces, and on my second visit, I opted for the Tsukasa set (available for dine-in only). I highly recommend this place—10 out of 10!

This place is such a WINNER!! The beef tongue is incredibly tender, flavorful, and perfect in all aspects. You can tell they use high quality beef and that they pay close attention to detail. It's fun to watch as they cook the meat over the charcoals. The only reason I come here is for the beef tongue, nothing else has been that impressive but the beef tongue alone warrants a 5* review.Also, the Mitsuwa food court is undergoing renovations which will increase the seating area. Once completed, it will be much improved, hopefully they get new tables and chairs too. Their high chairs are especially dated and rickety.

Again, I was amazed to find a Japanese style charcoal grill gyutan (ox tongue) place in a supermarket food court!! Not a comfortable place to sit for long, but the food this place serve is definitely worth going ???
