I am saddened to see that the restaurant has permanently closed... My family and I have been dining there since the 1970s.

Went here today for the last time as being demolished to put a road in. this pub was built 220 years ago and such a lovely place. Talking to different people today who gone just to say end of an era. I've put this as a review just to show that history is so important.. This is set on the A417 and tomorrow it closes for the last time so sad

I find it absurd that a historic structure like this would be torn down after standing for 230 years, all for the sake of widening a road. If the road is considered hazardous, why not simply reduce the speed limit and add a series of speed cameras instead?

The food at this restaurant is stunning. I also love the unique layout of the building, which gives it a cozy feel. It's a convenient location for travelers and I wish I could visit more often. It's heartbreaking that it's closing down, it will be a significant loss for the area.
