The major disappointment was the lack of toilet paper in both the men's and women's restrooms during our visit.
Beautiful from the outside, but terrible on the inside, but what do you expect from a marston pub! we only thought of a drink and decided that we would eat beer there! everything was dirty and sticky, would not risk eating.
It's really hard to know how to check this pub. great location in the heart of Bourton-on-the-Water, right on one of the famous bridges over the windrush. pretty on the outside, but ugly and down. easy grubby feels at everything....tables could definitiw. do with a deep cleanliness. the staff did their best, but it was a very busy day in the village and the pub was filled in definitiw. this was not helped by the fact that they had to order at the bar, which meant that there was a constant wait of men through our table. a rather unreliable menu, although eating when it arrived, was actually well cooked and quite delicious. not a place to stay, but certainly not the day we were. I think there are many better places to go to bourton (although probably much more expensive)
Visited the pub, eating was great, personal friendly, this pub would recommend to any visitor. great old art pub.
Pretty decent pub grub and a good selection of beers for an evening out right in the heart of Bourton-on-the-water! They have a lot of seating area outside- great for the spring/summer evenings. Maybe a bit difficult to get a table before 6pm on weekends,...but as the touristy crowd starts to go back, it becomes easier.
