It is located directly across from the Northbound side of Kemble station, with a kitchen that takes orders until 10:00pm or slightly earlier. Towards the end of the evening, the menu selection may be slightly limited. The food quality is good and typical for a country inn.
We were pleasantly surprised when we unexpectedly discovered this restaurant and decided to have lunch. It was excellent - we enjoyed the brie wedges and prawns with chili sauce, both of which were delicious and reasonably priced. The service was friendly and efficient. It was a nice day, so we chose to dine in their spacious garden.
Went there for Sunday lunch for a roast with the family. Nice pub, good service. Food very average. Looked good when served, but lacked any interest!!! I did ask the landlady prior to ordering, if the beef is a joint carved off the bone,...she said yes and it wasn't, it was pre sliced. Pre sliced beef you get at most pubs and lacks flavour. The veg option looked good, again no flavour. Sad to say not the best meal. Oh well, you live and learn.
My family ordered a Sunday lunch takeaway from this restaurant, including beef and chicken dishes. They were all delicious and came with plenty of vegetables. The staff member at the pub was a young girl who was very friendly, welcoming, and informative. Thank you for the great service.
Had the misfortune of having Sunday lunch at this Pub. We chose the beef and asked for it well done which it was. The meat was full of gristle and basically inedible. It came with sage and onion, I think, stuffing( shredded carrot( and cabbage....Not conventional nor pleasant. The only things that were good were the roast and mash potato and the additional pigs in blankets. Having travelled from various parts of S.England to meet, only meals of the were good and it spoilt a much anticipated meeting of friends. We will not be back !
