Despite its quirks, the food was absolutely delicious. We were pleasantly surprised to discover they offered a meatless roast with plenty of veggies and gravy. The Sticky Toffee Pudding was a highlight. Our meal was reasonably priced compared to other pubs in the area, and we were pleased with the bill, which even included the service charge. Additionally, the pub is very dog-friendly, so feel free to bring your furry friend along for a visit.
To make matters worse, when we arrived, they couldn't find our booking even though we had confirmed it with them two days prior. The server was unfriendly throughout the entire meal and seemed inconvenienced by our presence. We felt embarrassed for having recommended the place, and no one wanted to talk about the meal because it was subpar. It's hard to complain in the moment when the food isn't technically wrong, just not up to par. The automatic service charge felt like a slap in the face, but we didn't want to cause a scene since our friends were treating us. Overall, we won't be returning to this pub.
The food, service, and drinks are all outstanding. This cozy inn in the country Cotswolds has a beautiful setting, and their Sunday roast is definitely the highlight of the week. It will always be a top choice for me and my husband.
Terrible quality, ridiculous pricing. £19 for the burger, they’ve used the cheapest possible, Aldi Brioche buns, overcooked dense burger and a large handful of fries. No sides. Ingredients couldn’t have cost more than £1. Beer selection was generic and average. We suggest you drive 10 minutes to a far far better food pub. Won’t be returning.
A beautiful place to stop on our tour of some local villages with friends from overseas. We called in for drinks and plan to go back for food some time.
