Dun Cow - County Durham

I have only written two reviews on Tripadvisor in the past 10+ years, but I was so disappointed with the meal and customer service my husband and I received this evening that I feel compelled to leave a review. I ordered the lasagne, which was incredibly salty to the point that all I could taste was salt with each bite. I struggled to eat it and only managed to finish half before giving up. When I mentioned the issue to the waitress as she cleared the table, she said she would inform the chef. However, when we went to pay, we were still charged for the lasagne. When my husband inquired about this, the bartender simply smiled and confirmed they had received the feedback. There was no apology or attempt to make it right. I am disappointed and upset about the poor quality of the food, and if our complaint had been handled professionally, we would consider returning to the Dun Cow. Unfortunately, due to the lack of customer service, we will not be coming back.

I stopped by this restaurant on my way home today after hearing good reviews from friends. I can say with confidence that we were very impressed. The atmosphere was comfortable and pleasant, and the staff were lovely and attentive. We both enjoyed the amazing burger with onion rings, cheese, and delicious chips, along with a side salad and the best coleslaw I've ever had. As you can see in the attached photo, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Thank you to the staff, we will definitely be returning.

What a pleasant find, from the moment we arrived we had great service. The menu is extensive which some times can raise a red flag but all the food we had was of good quality and nicely cooked. They also have some nice real ales. definitely we would visit again if in teh area.

Went today for lunch we had Salmon with Parma Ham and Cod and chips Absolutely delicious ! Will certainly visit again 10/10 Great service great food lovely surroundings

Service was great, staff are lovely . food was delicious, we are from Hartlepool my mother loves visiting here with my sister and brother. 7 of us went on Friday for my daughter’s birthday . Will definitely return
