Ozone - County Durham

We decided to go to Ozone for lunch during the middle of the week and once again, we were not let down. The food was excellent, the service was great, and the atmosphere was clean and pleasant.

We had dinner at this restaurant as part of a spa night at the hotel. We had a great time, the food was delicious, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. However, we found the drinks to be quite expensive, even for a hotel. The prices were 50% higher than what we consider reasonable, with a glass of basic merlot and a non-alcoholic beer costing £15. Despite this, they took my allergies seriously, which was good to see.

We enjoyed a delicious lunch before our spa treatments. There were many Asian tapas dishes to choose from, and we wanted to try everything on the menu. The restaurant had a lovely ambiance and the staff were fantastic.

The food and service was average. Red curry lacked any depth of flavour and was too sweet. Beef and black bean was very salty. The salt and pepper chips were massively over salted. Although quiet staff were not present to refill drinks and ask if our food was okay. Overall, the quality of the food and experience did not match the cost of the meal. A shame as previously this restarant was fantastic.

My husband and I went for a meal in the Ozone last night and it didn’t disappoint. Both our meals were absolutely beautiful and very tasty. I had the Thai red curry and my husband had a steak. No complaints at all. Service was also very good. Obviously, it’s Seaham Hall so it’s a bit pricey but in my opinion worth it.
