This restaurant is conveniently located and the staff were helpful in providing us with a taxi number when we asked. The room was clean and the extra touches were a nice bonus. The only issue was that the shower head appeared to be loose, causing some problems. Overall rating: Rooms: 4 Service: 4 Location: 4

This restaurant review could have easily received at least a 4-star rating due to the great general appearance, condition, and location of the establishment. Unfortunately, the bed linen had a strong unpleasant odor, resembling that of being stored in a musty cupboard for a year or two after being used by sweaty bodies. The breakfast offered was disappointing, lacking any cooked options, and the hotel owner should consider offering more than just a Continental breakfast consisting of rice crispy cereal, toast, and a cupcake. Despite being booked for 2 nights, the persistent foul smell of the bed sheets led us to check out after the first night, as no amount of Fabreze could mask the odor. While other aspects of the hotel were satisfactory, the two main components of a hotel stay, the bed and breakfast, were unfortunately very subpar. We do not plan on returning.

We have just stayed at the Harwick arms hotel in Sedgefield and we weren’t impressed the plumbing in the hotel bangs and rattles whenever you run water or flush the toilet. The continental breakfast was poor no eggs cheese meat or marmalade and communication with the manager was futile. They had no chef so meals weren’t available. Rooms: 1 Service: 1 Location: 5
