I have to give credit to the two lady bar staff, who were friendly and welcoming beyond the call of duty, with a good sense of humour. The second time I went, there was a DJ on, and they were grooving behind the bar as they worked. Maybe I was lucky, but I have to say the punters I met on both visits were also very friendly and having a fun time. A good pub to relax in.
Coventry Pub Crawl (20 05 23) Our third pub and another good time, felt welcome on entering and got 2 Pints and sat down , a disco setting up so moved to watch my Football team Nottingham Forest play, was winning 1 0 at half time so had another pint and watched till the end chatting to the locals, ended Forest. 1 Arsenal. 0 so we were safe and Man Citywon the Premier League title, left a happy man.
Superb food! Both our children have coeliac disease so we booked to each an evening meal here when staying overnight in Coventry. Husband and eldest daughter both had the chicken curry, I had the steak and youngest had the children’s sausage and chips. It was so reassuring to eat somewhere where the food was on the whole mostly gluten free. We hope more places follow suit! We cannot fault the food at all- it was absolutely delicious and very generous. My husband said it was one of the best curries he’s had- great big chunks of chicken. I had a taste and it certainly was fab! He also rated the beer highly being a CAMRA enthusiast so all I. All a win-win. Very child friendly with children’s cutlery also available. We will definitely return if in Coventry again.
I am trying to check out all of the pubs in the city centre to make my own decision on which is worth coming in to for a quick drink. When I got to the bar on a Saturday afternoon, the barmaid was really pleasant and chatty and another women at the bar joined in. Friendly atmosphere but I imagine with the “lads” drinking in there you wouldn’t put a step out of place for long. Probably the cheapest pint I have had for ages, £2.30 for a pint of Carling, a nice large outdoor seating area and sports channels on the tv this has definitely gone top of my list for places to pop into.
Lass with green hair was good crack, very good at her job which made us stay that bit longer. The lass deserves some recognition! From Geordie Lads.
