Contribuisci feedbackAlthough I consider myself as a carnivore, this is something as substantially as a steak or bbq rather than the rule, but one day I had a **** for bbq something. I wasn't sure what protein that bbq would come, but I just wanted what I wanted. However, there were not too many possibilities in my neck of the forest until I remembered nicks taste of texas. I made an online search, found the menu and saw exactly what I was in the mood, bbq beef brisket. from some reason Nick’s taste of texas did not seem great from outside, but when you went inside, it was a large open space with long community tables from one end of the room to the other. to order, go to the counter, get a number and as get her eat when your number is called. my niece who came with me ordered the chicken soup while I went to the bbq beef brisket and dessert, we decided to share a funnel cake. during the waiting there is a self-service chip and salsa bar to get their appetit. I think there were only 2 or 3 salsas to choose, but the one I got at the end was quite freshly tasting and had a nice kick. finally, the food arrived. the chicken soup of my niece was enough for 2 people and came with tortillas and Mexican fried rice. she is generally a picky eater and usually not even suppe, so I was surprised that this was the court she had ordered; but she said she liked it. when I look at it without tasting it, I have to say that they were generous with their sweetness and the broth looked clear and light, so that's a good sign. When it came to the bbq beef brisket, it was not exciting. I know that meat briquette is a cheaper meat cut that requires a slow cooking time to make it delicate, and for the greatest part the brisket was tender, but the meat itself did not really taste “beefy” enough. in the did it tasted kind of blah. As for the BBQ sauce, there was little a tasty sweet that I liked, but there was really no taste stamp on it. it just seemed to me a note. enough to say I gave to my request, but was not satisfied. the real highlight of this meal were the tortillas. these are some of the best flour tortillas I've ever had. they were thick, soft and fluffy. on their own, they would be well immersed in butter or as an appetizer or snack in salsa. as far as the other side is concerned, neither the buoyant nor the salat tension deserved. I had great hopes on dessert. how can you finally screw up funnel cake? they have. they served us funnel cake that was overcrowded. I would have just returned and asked for a fresh order that was a little golden brown, but was not sure if we were still getting the same results. Perhaps the cook thought the funnel cake was more a caramel brown? at least the suppe was good and the tortillas were fantastic. I have no plans to return to nicks taste of texas anytime soon. it is disappointing to be really in the mood for something and to be left open. If and when that comes back, I just have to look different.
