Mr Waffle Truck Stop - Cowpens

This truck stop AKA WeStar Travel Plaza started off glittering and nice but I left disgusted and disappointed. We stopped here for fuel $300.00 diesel food and a shower and was delighted to find a Latin cuisine restaurant inside. We ordered fajitas at 9.00 per plate and we asked where our tortillas were that came with them after we got our plates. The waitress asked which one we wanted. We told her flour. She brings them and everything is fine till we get the bill for 30.00. Something is off there. She then tells us that tortillas don 't come with fajitas . Ok soooo after she tells us she took them off the bill was still 30.00 because tax she said. We asked how do you get 12.00 in tax from 18.00 in food? To which she answers I don 't know . We pay and leave with a sour taste in our mouths about this incident. Did I forget to mention the restroom had trash all over the floor in the ladies room? Then we go pay for a shower. After discovering 1 towel we ask for a second towel at least for the floor so we don 't slip and fall because they have a suction shower mat on the actual regular floor which of course is slippery. She says that an extra towel will be 2.00. ok fine. But is it my towel at that point ma 'am? No she says. Ok so for a 50 cent towel I have to pay you 2.00 to rent it. We argue that makes no sense especially since we just spent $330.00 in here to which she responds by yelling and telling us she will call the police. Whatever lady. We take our shower. After the shower my man leaves and I ask her for the general managers number and she says she has no idea what number to call and the manager will be in tomorrow. The number and/or contact should always be posted on building which it is not. So she laughs and says she doesn 't know what I mean when I say her managers number and acts as if she doesn 't understand English since it 's not her first language. These ladies are all looking to scam a little off each customer that walks through there. I will never be back and we 'll make sure whenever we pass by on our CB radio to tell other drivers as well as our other 6 trucks to go elsewhere and spend their money. These people are crooks and really won 't release info for management to know what they are doing here. Again I 'm utterly disappointed and disgusted with the service here.

Don't buy any parts/accessories here and expect to get refund if it doesn't work. I purchased a spot mirror that was defective and went to exchange it , however they didn't have anymore so I then asked for a refund and was told they didn't give refunds. Definitely not a way to run a business !!

Well after all day of running hard and looking forward to something to eat at the connecting huddle house we were told after sitting there for 30 minutes that the cook was done and they wasn't taking anymore orders for the night, so we come over to the Westar travel plaza store to grab a bite. Only to find old dried out hot dogs, and hot sandwiches that had been sitting out for way to long. After settling on hot dogs and nachos only to find out they were out of hot cheese and chilly and the girl behind the counter didn't won't to take the time to refill it. Has well has the other condiments. This is just another case of lazy employees and poor management once again. My last time of stopping in here and I'll be sure to let others know while I'm going down the road.

Very nice. Friendly employees. Plenty of parking late without out the traffic and craziness of a chain TS. And an amazing tv room. Great place to get 10hr break.
