The fantastic coffees and hot chocolate are a must-try at this restaurant. The lunch time meals are great, and I highly recommend pairing it with a visit to the Japanese gardens.
I visited this cafe twice, once for afternoon tea and a second time before taking a walk through the gardens the following morning. The cafe offers both indoor and outdoor seating options. The staff was friendly, taking orders at the counter and delivering them to our table. However, I found it odd that tables were reserved with signs at 10am, even when the group was not arriving until 12:30pm. The drinks and snacks were reasonably priced, and even though it was too cold to sit outside during winter, the indoor seating still provided a nice view of the gardens.
Little cafe attached to garden. Decent coffee. Breakfast was homestyle cooking. They were very busy on the long weekend but staff were friendly and helpful. Not the worst place to stop for food.
The quiet and beautiful garden setting adds greatly to what is a quality cafe. The food was good, the service friendly and efficient and coffee good - I drink short black and it is surprising how often this arrives cold in cafes, but not here.
