I had the worst margarita pizza of my life, uncooked, almost no cheese and payed almos $10 american dollars for it. Disgusting. They only had one kind of beer, even when they offered 4 on the menu. Expensive for what the food really is. Burned pesto lasagna that tasted like grease. This place ruined a beautiful walk over Coyoacán. Disgusting. Don’t even try it.
I had almost given up on finding a good margherita pizza in Mexico after having several horrible ones in Mexico City and Oaxaca but my Mexican friend assured me I would like the pizza at Sole, Pizza y Amore in Coyoacan. He was right as this tasted like an authentic Italian margherita pizza with thin crust and the right amount of cheese and sauce (unlike the other places with the dripping in cheese, thick crust disasters I had tried). We shared a large pizza and my friend and his daughter had salami on their half and also enjoyed it. The service is slow and the ambience isn’t great but I would definitely go back for another good margherita pizza.
(An authentic pizza must be thin, a bit fluffy but crunchy at the same time, however this one, more than a pizza it was a toast, and even worst a burnt toast whose burnt flavour overshadowed any other taste. This was even more notorious because of the ingredients were pretty scanty, quite poor. For example, the 4 cheeses one barely tasted like cheese, without a distinctive smell or taste; also the tomatoes sauce was imperceptible. The service is ordinary, we asked for a beer who never arrived. In summary, it's not that bad but there's much better pizza places for sure.
This place, although a bit dirty and run down, has a very authentic look. Nevertheless food is not well executed and very poorly presented. Staff is nice but I would not recommend grabbing a bite here.
These are true italian pizzas! With slender bread and good toppings. Veggie-friendly. Nice service, friendly personnel.
