Plus.. the margaritas are wonderfully dangerous (you know this when the waiter offers to bring yoiu a shot of tequila if you don't think the margarita is strong enough). Excellent friendly service and cheap prices. The best local place you can hang out in when you only have a cruise stop over. Don't miss it!
There is a great little restaurant called Azul Caribe which in English means Blue Caribbean. It's on the main street (Rafael Melgar Rd). If you're coming out of the cruise terminal go thru the shops get to the main street (Rafael Melgar Rd), go left about 4 or 5 small blocks it's on the left hand side just up from a 7 Eleven that's on the opposite right corner. The beers were Dos Equois and Sol only cost $1.50. We ended up sitting there for a few hours just enjoying the laid back atmosphere local flavor the place had. Mario, the main man in charge was super awesome even helped me wring out my towel from the rain. The whole staff (2 other guys, I forgot their names) were more than gracious and kind and treated us to free nachos w/chicken, cheese beans and then later gave us a free hot wings. They also give you a marker so you can write something on their tiled bar so they'll remember you. I highly recommend this local corner bar/restaurant because the food was authentic excellent the service even better.
