Chilangos Taqueria - COZUMEL

Fun little local place in Cozumel. This is not a fancy place but rather a good local place for quesadillas. You better know some Spanish, as their English is very limited. Some of the menu terms were different names for certain foods, so a bit of a challenge. Overall, a good local dive, where you can enjoy some very reasonable priced food. Had no issues with stomach after eating there.

This restaurant is a little off the beaten path but not too far from Mega. We had to really look for it to find it but it was worth the effort. My husband ordered the #4 chicken with beans and rice and I ordered the #1 pork with beans and rice. They both came with a yummy side dish of macaroni and tomatoes and a lime flavored tea. I typically do not drink tea at all but this drink was wonderful and I had two full glasses of the tea. Total cost for both meals was $15 with tip. Most of the patrons were locals except for me, husband, and one other American man dining by himself. The menu was all in Spanish but the waiter knew enough English to describe the dishes to us. Definitely on our list of restaurants to return to in Cozumel!

If you can find this, and I recommend you do, it is a local place that is excellent! We had open faced pastor quesadillas, all 3 types of tamales--the Rojas and queso is tomato cheese, chili verde is chicken and green chiles--chicken mole' is what it is! Does not serve alcohol, but you can bring in an insulated cup of something for your dinner. Very excellent food; extremely cheap--dine in or take-out--locals standing in line at take-out window!

Had been here last year and definitely was on our list for a return trip. Great huaraches that are absolutely huge. This place is cheap !! Stopped here with our taxi friend one evening and will definitely be a regular return stop.

This place is where locals eat. You better be able to navigate a bit of spanish because little Englih is spoken here. This place is known for it's quesidillas.
