I am sad that I am born and raised here and never heard of this spot. I have been here twice in one week 's time, and I am blown away. The food is absolutely delicious! What I 've tried: the gumbo, red beans, fried green tomatoes, Tuesday 's brisket w/gravy and braised cabbage, the hamburger steak w/mashed potatoes and brocolli, and a fried seafood platter. ALL OF IT, was so delicious. One of my daughter 's tried the veal parmesan and loved it. Another one of my daughter 's tried the smoked sausage po-boy and loved it. There are so many other items on the menu I can 't wait to try. This is definitely my new favorite restaurant in the city. Also, I am very happy with the prices of the menu items. And, the waitstaff has been awesome as well. I read where one reviewer described this place as being a typical corner restaurant. Not sure what that means, but i consider myself to be a restaurant connoisseur, and this place is anything but typical . There are places that like to refer to themselves as being a down-south eatery, with homestyle cooking flavors, but they always fall short. This place on the other hand fits the bill WITH added bonus items on the menu. Yes, I would definitely recommend. My advice, if you don 't typically eat a certain food item, don 't come to this spot to try it for the first time expecting to be blown away. I think that might be some of the issue with non-locals who come to this unique city expecting to eat any and everything with the expectation that they 'll fall in love with it. If you 're one of those very picky, more singular palate kind of people, just stick to the food items you know, an you can 't go wrong here. We have not tried one food item here we absolutely didn 't love.

We stopped by for a quick snack. Tried the fried green tomatoes, eggplant napoleon and the bread pudding. Everything was absolutely amazing!

Very nice restaurant located in the garden district, tasty and plentiful food, fast service and the waitress who served us was really lovely. Absolutely worth trying, highly recommended

Lovely staff, excellent cold drinks ... Just called in for a pit-stop.

Amazing food!! Po boy, red beans and rice, jambala, and catfish were 10/10
