Crawfish bread: stellar. Seafood au gratin: heavenly. (Sometimes restaurants will skimp on the quality or quantity of crab—my favorite food—but not here. Big lumps were in abundance. Good-value wine list. Attentive service without being all over us. Red beans rice w/ fried chicken: HUGE portion and very tasty. Not glumpy at all.
The hostess was super nice and recommended we dine in. We said we may be back later and they remembered us once we returned. We sat near the kitchen and it was quiet. We decided on salads which the portions were large enough to share. What I didn’t care for was the salad dressing which was an avocado lime dressing. It tasted like avocado, which doesn’t haven’t much of a taste. I ask for a honey mustard, which was better and both were made in house. What I noticed was the food looked good coming out the kitchen, however I couldn’t smell anything. As my daughter stated it just seems like our food wasn’t made with love, it was missing favor, she ordered a steak salad and the amount of fresh mint in it, over powered it. There wasn’t much more to it. I had a chicken Cobb salad which was okay. The servers were friendly, as one was being trained and they were attentive. The manager came by as well to check on us.
Food was okay. The fried chicken and beans was good, the vegetables in the fish dish were okay. Not really full of flavor. Green tomato and shrimp was flavorful. Not as much taste of new orleans flavor but good.
Food was great but the drinks were even better. We got seated with a window view and it was perfect loved every minute of the evening
Dinner and ambience were superb. Unfortunately the blueberry drink was so small, overpriced, with no blueberry flavor. The appetizer came out with the entree which left us waiting for a long time to get food.
