The welcome was warm and friendly, service was impeccable and wine was excellent. Menu was short but promising, unfortunately the food execution was lackluster, underwhelming and far below expectations given the price point. The balance of flavours were just wrong! From the overly fishy amusement-bouche to the mussel soup that tasted pretty much how it looked (not appetising , to the extremely tough Veal and not so tender beef ribs with a dessert, advertised as mousse, that had the consistency of school canteen pudding with overly generous gelatin, seriously lacking in sugar and any kind of flavour. It was obvious that the quality and sourcing of ingredients were of the highest standards just very badly put together. I’m hoping the Chef was just having an off day, but it’s extremely rare to have every course at such a mediocre level and such a high price point. We all left quite disappointed! The location, venue and staff were utterly charming and faultless.
We had the most perfect dining experience! From the moment we walked in we knew we’d come to a special restaurant. The interior is warm and nicely designed. The owner gave wonderful wine recommendations and the food was cooked to perfection. It truly is a hidden gem, off the beaten pass. You won’t want to miss eating here!
Step into a warm embrace of hospitality where the welcome feels like a cozy hug, and the service dances effortlessly between impeccable and extraordinary. The wine list is a treasure trove of delights, each sip a journey through vineyards and vintages that elevate the dining experience. But alas, while the menu holds promise like a tantalizing teaser, the execution falls flat, leaving taste buds yearning for more. From an amusement-bouche that swims too deep in the sea of fishiness to a mussel soup that fails to tantalize even the most adventurous palate, it's a journey of culinary disappointments. The Veal and beef ribs put up a tough fight against tenderness, leaving diners grappling with disappointment instead of satisfaction. And as for dessert, a mousse that falls flat like a deflated balloon, lacking sweetness and flavor, reminiscent of school canteen pudding gone wrong. While the ingredients boast pedigree and quality, their union on the plate feels like a missed connection, leaving diners wondering if the chef lost their culinary compass for the day. Despite the culinary missteps, the charm of the venue, the allure of the location, and the faultless grace of the staff shine through like beacons of hope in a sea of culinary mediocrity. Here's to hoping the chef's next creation shines as bright as the ambiance, for it's rare to find such a juxtaposition of charm and disappointment at such a lofty price point.
