The pub is extremely clean and warm too on a cold October day! The food was very good too, it’s standard pub fayre but cooked very well. We had kids sausages and goujons and the adults had beef madras and chicken in blue cheese sauce. We couldn’t fault the food or the service. The other thing was how cheap it was too for such good quality food! Can highly recommend this place and we will be back!
Absolute gem of a place great food, friendly staff and lovely locals! We stayed overnight here in our campervan and were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived! Some beautiful walks direct from the pub and an ideal peaceful base to go shopping in skipton. We have already raved about this place to our friends and family, we will most definitely be back!
We visited The Cavendish Arms at Embsay for a family meal when we were visiting Skipton. Fortunately we had booked as it was very busy. The menu was varied, and would satisfied all tastes, plus the addition of about 8 or 9 specials. We were warmly welcomed and treated to some outstanding food and very good selection of drinks. We had the Beef and Ale Pie, Ham, Egg and Chips and Pork Escalope and Penang Curry from the specials board. The food was a good portions, well cooked and presented and certainly very good value for money. The beef pie was exceptional and must say it’s the best I’ve ever had. The car park is flat and allows stop-overs for caravans and motor-homes. About 5 mins walk away is the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Heritage Steam Railway. We are seriously planning to return in our MH next year and will definitely be visiting The Cavendish Arms and the Railway.
This is a wonderful spot to make a pit stop in my campervan. The homemade food was delicious and not greasy. The parking lot has flat spots with a fantastic view. The owners and staff are friendly and make you feel welcome. It's dog-friendly and there's a great dog walk nearby. It was incredibly peaceful at night. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks for a great experience.
Great pub with excellent real ale, fantastic home cooked food served by wonderful staff, been many times and looking forward to our next visit
