What a pleasant find. Loved the simplicity of this little quaint Japanese Restaurant. The Chef / Owner - great character, friendly and very happy. Our eyes were bigger than our bellies! Did not waste a drop... Would love to eat here again.
Located in the shops on Spofforth Street, halfway between Military Road and the Cremorne Point Wharf, Miyako Sushiya is basically a takeaway place. Dining in means two fairly small benches with a couple of stools the takeaway patrons sit on waiting for their meals. The menu is fairly extensive for such a small place and they also have a blackboard of special dishes. For my money, the food is authentic Japanese. unpretentious, and great value for money. Entreé dishes are between $5 and $10, with mains ranging from $10 to under $20. All figures are AUD.My mate and I had no problem bringing in a couple of cans of Japanese beer purchased at the bottle shop and few door up and consuming them with our meal. The same applied the previous occasion three of us ate there a couple of years ago and we brought in a bottle of sparkling wine.No real suggestions as to what is best on the menu. Both times I have visited, we have done a sort of "yum cha" by ordering a single portion of most of the entreés and one or two of the main meals. All were delicious and great value for money.
Sleek, smooth, wooden furniture with soft, neutral , toned throws and table cloths to enhance the beauty of each piece. This is a small shop that is very
