Books, souvenirs, cool trinkets, musical instruments and supplies, fantastic treats, and some of the best coffee anywhere. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Helping us find what we needed to find in store and around town. Totally a highlight of our trip and easily our favourite place in the Kootenays.
My wife and I had some time to kill in Creston and noticed the Black Bear. Since we like books and we like coffee we wandered in. It is an eclectic place permeated by the wonderful smell of fresh coffee. There were books, coffee, souvenir clothes, local art work and, best of all, food. We both chose the homemade clamp chowder and a chicken salad sandwich. The soup came in a huge bowl and was aromatic, tasty and filling. The sandwiches were made with thick slabs of brown bread and a homemade chicken salad that was meaty and full of celery and a nice sauce. All in all it was a great place to while away a bit of time.
If you seeking a great special cup of coofee, that is the place you want to stop for it.Enjoyed a cup of macchiato.
