Honestly the best fish and chips I've had. Hands down. I can't go elsewhere now. The fish is fresh and tasty every single time. And the chips are fresh and not greasy. They make it fresh as you arrive. There's always a queue (and I understand why) but it always goes quickly. They are very efficient and friendly. Highly Recommended!!!

This is the best chip shop around! When did their fish and small chips get so big? . .I know it's been a while since I tasted their fantastic yummy offerings,but the fish was still so tasty,the batter crispy and the chips chunky and just how they should be from a decent chippy! . . Your always welcomed with a smile and a pleasant greeting,and each order is cooked fresh whilst you wait. . They also have a restaurant next door,where you can sit and eat in a pleasant friendly atmosphere. . This is a place I highly recommend you try,someone I knew used to come and eat there when they were out and they lived in blackheath!! . . .

I am relatively new to the area and moved here six months ago. I've read all the reviews about McDermott's Fish and Chips, my local spot, and I have to say that it has exceeded my expectations. The chips are a perfect blend of soft and crispy, always fresh with no hint of old oil. As for the fish, I believe it's sourced sustainably, and the special or "fish of the day" seems to reflect what's fresh from the market. There's usually a bit of a wait, but it goes by quickly. I do wish their opening hours were longer, as they don't align with typical chippy times, but I suppose that just adds to the demand.
