Pasta Di Rocca - Croydon

Sat in the restaurant for a good 5 min or so. No one showed us to our seats, no one took any notice of us. One waitress shrugged her shoulders when I mentioned the fact that there has been no service. Poor. Didnt stay for food.

I fancied pasta when I was at Boxpark on a Tuesday evening. One nice thing about pasta di rocca is that it has it’s own seating inside so more of a restaurant feel compared to other options in Boxpark. Service was quick and efficient. My friend and I both ordered pasta dishes which were delicious, cooked perfectly, huge portions and paired with a lovely red wine. The pasta was amazing, I’m not sure it had the major wow factor for me that I’ve had at other pasta restaurants in London but it was pretty perfect.

I had ordered takeout from this restaurant before and it was great, but the meal I had today at Boxpark was far below my expectations. I ordered a chicken arrabiatta from a rude female server, and chose the bruschetta as my free side. I was really looking forward to the meal, but it was a big disappointment. The sauce was too garlicky, making the dish unenjoyable. The chicken was old and didn't absorb any sauce, tasting like it had been sitting too long. The bruschetta was soggy with a bit of pesto. For £8.25, I felt like I was overcharged for a small portion of unappetizing food. The prices on the Boxpark website were also misleading. I probably won't be returning anytime soon.

We work near Box Park needed to grab some lunch quickly. A colleague had recommended Pasta Di Rocca I have to say it was the best linguine arrabbiata that I have ever tasted. Decent sized portions, really, really tasty quick service. My new favourite lunchtime spot.

We were in a hurry one night coming back to Croydon for a long day in London and stopped by to get a couple of take away pasta dishes. The pesto sauce on the linguini was just about the best I've ever had. It was excellent. I went back the next night for it again. The service was fast and the food delicious.
