Don Pollo - Cuauhtémoc

Don Pollo is a chain, and we really like the food. But this wasn't our greatest experience ever. The restaurant is conveniently located on Reforma, with a nice view just above street level. But we wandered in no one greeted us, or told us where to go to sit down until we asked. The room upstairs is nice. The food was warm, not hot. But still good. And the prices are excellent. We've been to others in the chain, and I would certainly recommend them over this location.

Chicken soup was good but roasted chicken too dry for our taste. This may have been because we attended at 7 p.m. for dinner when the restaurant closes at 8 p.m. Probably better for lunch.

They have a huge menu with plenty Mexican dishes. The service is very fast and the quality is good. 2nd floor tables are the best!

I am a seasoned traveler and I have experienced a gamma of places to eat. I went to Don Pollo, a hole in the wall kinda of place next door to the Marriott Hotel, a block from the US Embassy. I tried the pollo al carbon and it was so delicious. It was reminiscent of my childhood days when my dad used to stop at the side of the road and buy either chicken or pork cooked with wood and charcoal. The taste is a soul transformation experience. I went again and tried th chicken soup and the Sincronizadas or quesadillas filled with chicken and white cheese. OMG and very inexpensive. You can indulge for in between $5 and $10. I strongly recommend this place.

No es la primera vez que pido servicio a domicilio en Don Pollo. En esta ocasión ordené un consomé con menudencias, el cual tenía muy poco arroz, poquísimas menudencias; y además ordené medio pollo, el cual estaba muy seco y las piezas eran muy pequeñas. Creo que deberían de cuidar estos detalles.
