Novecento Pasta Grill - Culver City

I ordered the Lamb chop special and it came undercooked. I'm glad I ordered it medium-well because there was too much gristle and not much flavor. The ravioli that came with it were delicious. Others at my table enjoyed their Chicken Piccata and Salmon dishes. The wine selection was nice and the prices were reasonable. The atmosphere was charming, but we were taken aback by the strong cheese odor when we entered.

We had a wonderful experience at Novecento - the service was outstanding, the food was delicious, and we really enjoyed the house wines! We both decided to order the Penne pasta with ragu sauce, and the portions were very generous. The homemade taste was evident and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We appreciated the convenience of not having to travel all over town and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. This was not our first visit and we look forward to returning again soon.

I visited Novecento years ago when it was a charming, cozy Italian restaurant. However, it seems that a lot has changed since then. When we made reservations on a weeknight, the restaurant was packed in a negative way. The tables were crammed together and poorly arranged, making it uncomfortable for diners. The lighting was too bright, the noise level was high, and the service seemed rushed and unorganized. The most disappointing aspect was the decline in food quality. The wine selection was limited, and many dishes were prepared with soybean oil instead of the more traditional olive oil. This caused an issue for one of our party members who had a soy allergy, as we were not informed of this until after we had ordered. Until Novecento improves their overall dining experience, I would recommend giving Sotto a try.

A Culver City gem! We came here for our first date 15 years ago, and still love the place!

Our entire family went to the restaurant before the theater. We loved the food, the service was good and the price very reasonable.
