This place is always bustling with people, but it never feels overcrowded. The staff at the bookstore are friendly and eager to help. If they don’t have the book you’re looking for, they’re more than willing to order it for you. My wife is a big fan of the coffee shop, and they also have a great selection of children's books. I highly recommend popping in for a coffee and taking some time to browse the shelves—you’re likely to find something that catches your eye!
Even if you manage to snag a seat, it’s not comfortable for a casual coffee with a friend. The atmosphere can feel unwelcoming, as other patrons give you dirty looks, as if you're intruding on their space. It might be better to use a library or at least order more drinks to justify occupying a table that's meant for customers. I’d be more than happy to grab a couple of drinks and a sandwich, and I promise not to overstay, if only I could find a place to sit. The ambiance is quite off-putting; I’ve witnessed people getting glares for simply wanting to enjoy a coffee and have a quiet conversation. The atmosphere is filled with self-important individuals who seem entitled. This is not a library or a coworking space. Such businesses struggle when freeloaders, who can clearly afford to support the café, use the free Wi-Fi and stay for hours with just one beverage.
Currently my favorite place to do work. Super cozy, pleasant vibes and really nice staff. It’s pretty popular, so sometimes getting a seat can be tricky, but most of the time I’ve been lucky. My go-to is the strange waves tea (green tea) or an iced matcha latte. I usually park in the nearby residential neighborhood and walk over. It’s just past downtown Culver City, so sometimes the area be busy. Would definitely recommend giving it a try.
We came here to meet with people and it worked out. There is street parking along with a few (very few) private spots in the lot behind. The inside had some good long tables and seating areas, and the outside had some chairs as well. There is a good number of books that were great for browsing and a few good spots to sit and read. The is a small coffee bar serving up all the classics, and it was good coffee. they also have a small area that can be converted to a stage and often have guest presenters and readers. They were setting up for one as we were leaving. This is not a good place for groups and the seating is crowded and hard to find space together for a lot of people.
