Eventually, I got so frustrated with the unchewable pieces of meat that I stopped going there a little over a year ago. Recently, I decided to give it another try, but it was even worse than I remembered. Some of the food appeared to have been reheated multiple times, and my meals didn't come with the correct sauces. The quality of the pork was even worse than before. Additionally, they've changed the vegetable mix served with the vermicelli pork, and there are no longer any sprouts.
Great spot for a quick pho craving! The food was served hot and quickly. The atmosphere is bright and inviting.
I have been visiting the Pho Hoa chain sporadically for nearly 20 years. After a break of about three years due to COVID, I was eager to return. The good news is that my food was pretty good. I typically order the beef pho #1, and it was just as I remembered, except for the price, which was much higher than I recall—nearly $14. My wife and kids were generally satisfied with their meals, although they weren't particularly thrilled with the popcorn chicken, and they found the chicken in the chicken and rice plate to be too dry. However, they did enjoy the original Thai boba. Overall, our total bill came to nearly $100 for five meals and three drinks, which seems quite expensive compared to my past visits. I plan to return since I do like the pho here, but just be aware of the pricing.
It was a cold day so a hot piping bowl of pho sounded good! At the entrance, they had a sign that said they were low on staff. I waited around for a while, and just when I was about to leave someone came over and seated me. It took some time to order andfor my food to arrive. I did get my drink first but it took another visit of the waitstaff to ask for a straw. This is a bubbletea with plastic film on top that had to be punctured, so a straw should be given without request. The pho itself wasunderwhelming. The soup was quite thin, not the rich broth I was craving. The meat quality is just ok. I totally understandabout being understaffed during this time, and wouldn't have held it against the restaurant. However, the meal itself wasunsatisfying. There are so many other pho shops nearby, I will visit a different one next time I have cravings.
I will not be spending any more money at Jazen Tea. I'm not sure if the locations are individually owned, but I've visited several of them and they always get my order wrong. My tea tastes terrible, and the boba looks like it was blended. The service is extremely poor, and the drinks and food are of very low quality.
