Mixed reviews on this site for this Cafe, nonetheless we tried it. I was overall very good, ok the decor is of a basic King Island charm, but the meals were great, cooked breakfast, eggs anyway you like and surpassingly good coffee, now the 2 ladies that run the place can be a little frosty..but try and break the ice and they will be just lovely.
Pleasant morning break while shopping in Currie. Everything from a full meal to a little snack. Nice stock of books in the exchange basket to browse while you savour your drinks.
The woman who works in the kitchen and likely owns this place was so rude to my boyfriend and I. You could clearly tell she did not care or take an interest in people who aren't locals by the comments she made and the way she put together our lunch compared to locals who were eating there. My prawn wrap was so sloppy; the wrap was ripped and there was so much aioli it was all I could taste. My boyfriend had the pulled pork sandwich which tasted good however was open face on one piece of bread so not really a sandwich. And for the price ($16 for prawn and $18 for pork) you might get a side salad or chips. Would strongly recommend going to one of the many other places to eat in currie over here.
Had afternoon tea here twice while in Currie. Good old fashioned friendly and personal service from the owner, and the coffees, hot chocolate, cake and scones eaten were excellent. Couldn't comment on the lunch or breakfast menu items, but the food in the servery looked delicious. Recommended.
