All the little details and sincere interactions he had with us won't be soon forgotten. The rest of the staff were lovely and helpful as well. Must try location if you want quality service and top notch dining.P.S The title of best flan in the country is justified, delicious!
This cafe is a gem!!! Heartfelt hospitality. Excellent food. And a Carajillo Coffee that was surprisingly divine! The patio is perfect for southwest sunsets. Pecos Trail Cafe is one of those special places in this world. One that I look forward to returning to.
I just arrived in Santa Fe and tried this place based on reviews and location. I had a simple meal of chicken enchiladas with salsa verde and it was awesome. The chicken was grilled, tasty and tender. The sauce was home made and mildly spicy. The pinto beans were tasty and whole instead of the puree some places serve. The rice was perfectly cooked and fresh. Even the lettuce and tomato was very fresh. Clean place. It seemed the owner and his wife served me and were super friendly.
The worst dining experience I’ve ever had in Santa Fe. The Chile con queso was some weird ball park nacho-like flavorless cheese sauce. What’s even stranger is they smother many of their seafood dishes in this stuff. The waiter apparently didn’t turn our order in and we were told over and over that the kitchen was working on it but it never showed. We left after waiting for an hour and an half after our arrival at the restaurant without a meal. Funky tasting margaritas as well. Definitely not the “hidden gem” as advertised.
I'm a Santa Fe native. They make the best NM style chile rellenos that I've had in town. Excellent friendly service and prices are fair.
