Has a huge queue sometimes but the staff is super friendly and the food is pretty good. Their dumplings is less salty than the usual. Portions are quite big too.
The service and waiting queue needs a lot of work. They just gave us a number, but there's no beeper or other system, and insufficient seats outside for waiting. The waiter taking our order repeatedly gets interrupted and even went to serve the table behind us while in middle of taking our order. This garbage service makes their food not even worth eating, even if their food is good. And it is NOT good. Ding Tai Fung xiao long baos are definitely better. The ones here were underseasoned way under salted. And their other food was bland. The fish dumplings were too fishy as well. And by the way, the prices are EXPENSIVE, and we are not in any sort of nice environment. We were seated in the cold dark basement.
Very popular and expect long lines and waits. Put yourself on the waitlist. The steamed soup dumplings were good-nice flavor and thin wrapper. Didn’t like the siu mai as it had an odd filling with a crunchy texture from the water chestnut that was not traditional. The shrimp fried rice was basic and not very memorable. A bit too much pepper flavor. The beef scallion pancake roll was pretty good though.
I think the food here is better than Ding Tai Fung, price is also a bit friendlier, soup dumplings are very soupy and delicious, maybe one minor compliant I can give is the service, I think the staff can be a bit more attentive. But overall a good experience here and will definitely revisit.
