They say simple is always best, and amidst these charactered tea rooms you have no fuss, people talking on mobike phones or computers. It is an experience of times gone by with lovingly made sandwiches and beautiful home made cakes in classic surroundings. What makes this establishment extra special is that it is a charity with all contributions going to help vulnerable people and all the staff are volunteers. Even your contribution attracts gift aid when you make an offer for your meal
We prefer to go to charity or right-on places and the staff here were welcoming and funny and our fish finger sarnies and coffee were good . You can pay what is suggested but pay more or donate for the times that are in it.
Was visiting my mum who lives in Hemel, and researched where we could go for coffee… this was an option, and mum hadn’t been, so we gave it a go. Must say that is was a delightful experience . From the person who greeted us and explained how it worked to the volunteers who took orders and brought our order to the table. It was lovely relaxed and charming inside… love the old bus seats as tables! Mum had a great time and has already told friends about it! I hope she will be a regular visitor we will definitely back next time I’m in town. Well done to everyone who created such an inclusive and welcoming community space
Go and have a look well worth it. Very interesting interior which is not evident from the outside. You might even find something you like to eat or drink.
