Excellent food and service. lighting could be a bit dimmed for a better culinary experience.
The location is great, beautiful venue on the hill and the interieur is beautifully decorated. the food left a little to wish. there were 3 people on our party. you ordered the steak that was the quality of a $12 super market cut at $48. the accompanying brittle sprouts were excellent. a person had the pork chop that was thin and what I would have bought in the food store for a few mice. the makkaroni and cheese side was delicious, but the whole was served in bowl, which was strange and made cutting the pork jar more difficult and eating all kinds of mix together. the third person ordered the thunfisch. Tuna was great. the part was small, which would be in order if the sides had lived up to expectations. However, the alleged broccoli claw was not existent and it was served in a round only on a bed of salats. for items that were 40-$50 a piece, they are simply not on standard.
Thank you Dahlonega Resort and Vineyard and Chef Madeline for making our Thanksgiving Holiday into an exceptional day. What an amazing venue and location in the foothills of the North Georgia mountains. The venue and view are surpassed, easily, by the food. Flavor, finesses, complexity and simplicity made this one of the best meals I have had in Georgia. As a recovering Chef I am fussy, not picky when it comes to dining out and the service and menu exceeded expectations. Emma was had the perfect attitude amplified by her smile and curls for days. She took in stride every bump and hiccup, there were a couple and she just smiled and never missed a beat in our service. The food clearly was made with great thought and care. The pumpkin soup was smooth a velvety with a quick kick in the finish. The salad, truly tossed with the flavors melded was crisp and bursting with textures and flavors. Our main course was pure Americana. True to the flavors, no sappy sloppy attempt to be over the top just a respect for an American classic. The respect for the ingredients was evident all the way through the coffee and pie. Food and flavor were the stars of this meal because of the respect for them showed by the chef and her team. This is the kind of place you find very few times in your life. If you hunt for the next it restaurant you will probably overlook this one but that would be your loss. Make the drive. Enjoy the view. Respect the food.
The restaurant ambience and views were spectacular, however, the food was not. The brunch menu is pretty limited and pretty overpriced in my opinion. The portions were tiny and were not very good. The hash browns seemed frozen from a bag, the avocado was just peeled and layered on toast (not smashed with no flavor) and the lattes were $7 each. The servers had no idea about the menu or drinks and the wait seemed very prolonged in delivering the food to our table. (even though the restaurant was pretty empty). Overall, just know you are paying for the view.
