We ordered the following: Chicken Malai boti with paratha Chicken tikka with paratha Charcoal Burger Kabob salad bowl Chicken nuggets for kids These were all really good. The best part about their food was that they grilled all of the items right then- nothing is “pre-made”. The best surprise was their kabob and chicken nuggets. The kabob literally melts in your mouth and was amazingly flavorful without being spicy (nice change from regular desi food). The chicken nuggets are huge and real meat and not made of chicken mush like most places. They actually put some thought and effort into a kids meal and didn’t just throw something on the menu as an option to have. The only thing that I didn’t love was that the paratha was too thick for me and the chicken and paratha balance was off. I think a thinner, layered paratha would provide a perfect balance. Their menu is short and simple which means they’ll be able to maintain the consistency of their food which is the most important thing for me. Their restaurant has a certain retro/industrial vibe to it which is very interesting. This is certainly a place where you can take your non-desi friend and introduce them to desi/Mediterranean food without killing their palate with spices. Also, the restaurant is clean and refreshing!
Go for the triple meat platter. Three different meats, salad, and a heap of flavorful rice, all for about $17. It can easily feed two people. Their beef kebab and malai boti stole the show. The tawa chicken was good, but nothing to write home about, I would skip on that next time and pick another protein instead.
Nice and happening ambiance... Food was awsome... what i found about the food of charcoal Avenue is that the food taste delicious, flavourful and ecnomical..A must try.. highly recommended
Very tasty food. Way better than the halal guys. The server was very friendly and gave recommendations. Even the owner of Crescent Moon was there with his family to eat. Awesome service, awesome prices and awesome food. I just wish they have anorher branch in Denton or closer.
Chill ambiance, simple food and very affordable. Very accommodating crew; they just want to make sure the people are well fed. Support local family owned businesses! The Malai Boti is bomb . Get it over rice or salad for a healthy option.
