I got a simple chicken salad because I?d had a heavy lunch, but it was awful. My chicken tasted like fish the salad it?s self wasn?tthat good. My boyfriend didn?t like his dish very much either. The chips queso were just okay and their award winning marg wasnot anything remarkable. I think the only reason I?d return is because the service is impeccable, but it won?t be to eat.
Upscale Mexican authentic food with a top notch presentation in each plate. Service was amazing (the guy was awesome) and very friendly. Aesthetics were super cute and relaxed. This place definitely exceeded my expectations.
Fantastic servers, especially Jose Louis, excellent management and of course the amazing chef! Love this place, the food and the bar is spectacular as well! Don’t miss it!
We went on a friday night without a reservation and the hostesses were really nice and the wait was not too bad. By the time we ordered our drinks ... the BEST chips I 've ever had came along with 3 salsas, my favorite one was the roasted green one. Then oure drinks came and they didnt dissapoint. Our waitress suggested the Queso Fundido with Carnitas and Wow it was superb. Then my 'small ' tortilla soup came and it was by far the best one ive had in a really long time. And we shared it, so not really small. When our food arrived we were already super excited because it looked awesome and nothing was disappointing. I had the Braised short rib and my husband had the lamb barbacoa. They were the most tender and flavorful dishes and the green rice was incredible. I would go back just for the rice! Highly recommended So happy to have in Dallas a restaurant that is making Mexican food the right way. Cant wait to go back!
I am absolutely thrilled to see a new Mexican place in town. There are not enough of these around, to be honest. Fresh flavors that still taste authentic are the name of the game here. There are no silly 'gourmet ' ingredients that don 't belong in tacos here this place is the real deal when it comes to more upscale Mexican cuisine. For the drinkers, there is a robust selection of classics, as well as more ambitious agave cocktails for the more adventurous spirit (see what I did there . Let me start with the chips and salsa far and away some of the very best I 've had anywhere in the city. You are given three to nosh on salsa roja, green tomatillo, and roasted chili. All three are incredibly fresh, and absolutely delicious. I will down bowl after bowl of this stuff if left to my own devices. I have tried three cocktails here the house marg, the Tropical Sazerac (spicy , and the Crafty Paloma (refreshing . While the Paloma was my fave, all three were a cut above. The house marg is not the typical lime syrupy BS you might be accustomed to. The tequila is the star here, and it shows. Good deal for 6 bucks at happy hour! The esquites here are quite incredible. The corn is not the sweet yellow variety you often find at elotes stands, and is shaved fresh off the cob (which is how it should ALWAYS be! . Both my guy and I loved it! We each had an order of tacos he had the tinga, and I had al pastor. Both were the perfect portion size. Of note tacos don 't come with rice and beans, so if you 're expecting this, you won 't get it, unless you order on the side. I didn 't need them, so it didn 't matter to me. The tacos were nicely sized, and the tortillas DIDN 'T fall apart while we were eating, which is more important than you 'd think. The al pastor tacos were a revelation. The pineapple tasted way better than in any other taco I 've tried incredibly fresh, and it was obvious it was cut and cooked in house, and didn 't come from a can
