I ordered the tostaditas with black beans. They are adorably small. They come inorders or 4 or 8. They are pretty good. The salsa they come with is marvelous. This salsa is a little bit sweet at first andthen it sneaks up on you. It can get spicy if you add too much. I ordered el chaman cocktail. It’s made with mezcal and Ididn’t know I was not a fan of mezcal. It’s a little too bitter for my taste. That being said the drink itself is not bad.The flavor of the rest of the ingredients was quite good. The tajin rim helped a lot. The Oaxaca cocktail also has mezcal andit’s a little bit bitter but the taste is good. For my main meal I ordered the budín azteca con vegetales. It’s like a Theportion is so large. It comes with this green tomatillo sauce it is so warm and delicious. Novela is a spicy martini. It has agood flavor and the spice level works well as a whole. The avocado margarita is so interesting. I had a few sips. I reallydidn’t taste the avocado only the pineapple ???? overall it was good. The service was fabulous all the staff was friendly andattentive
Still new to the area but I think this was downtown Dallas?? Anyway, met some co-workers for dinner and the food was decent for sure. The dessert was good too! The service was not bad and while it sounds pretty decent there was just something thatdidn’t scream WOW or even slightly better than average about the place. Small and cozy for sure and really busy during dinnerso maybe give it a try! I have more Mexican options closer to me than this one so maybe that’s why I was not too impressedafter the fight through 1hr of traffic only to have something that wasn’t super spectacular. The brisket enchiladas lookedgood but they were a little tough, should have got the queso enchiladas instead probably.
We found this place randomly looking for food on a Friday night. If you find parking on the street it’s not pricey. There’s also a lot where you can pay in the back. The ambiance of this place is so chill and friendly. We easily got a table on a Fridaynight with the restaurant being semi busy. The drinks are strong. They bring your table chips and salsa and the guacamole isfresh. We ordered the carne tacos, pollo serrano enchiladas, and pollo budin azteca. The food was good. For drinks we orderedcucumber margarita (refreshing), avocado margarita, and a bourbon margarita (very strong). I would recommend, and will bereturning to try some dessert!
OMG THE FOOD IS AMAZING! I was in Dallas for the first time for a conference and was desperate to find some good authentic Mexican food. EVERYTHING we tried was so delicious that we had to come back a second time during our 4-day stay. Everything ismade in house and is so fresh. The sauces are prepared fresh each morning, and the bourbon margarita is exceptional. Literallythe absolute BEST Mexican food I’ve ever had. You cannot afford to miss this one!
First meal in Dallas, and it didn’t disappoint! From the service to the food to the atmosphere everything was top notch. The enchiladas are delicious and filling a little bit of a kick, if you’re sensitive to spicy food. And the drinks pack a punch! We had Fernando Nunez as our server, and he was absolutely phenomenal. Very knowledgeable about the menu and made greatrecommendations. We’re already trying to figure out a time to come back before we leave!
