We could have sat anywhere as we were the only patrons in the restaurant, having arrived at 1:30p CST, when the restaurant takes its last order at 2:00pm CST. The services is a bit slow. They don't serve bread, and we had to ask for butter for one of our party that ordered pancakes, as for more ketchup for a few folks that had hash browns, or french fries. The waiters lacked the where-with-all of what was needed, vs. being reactionary to our requests. When we asked for the bill to be split six (6) ways, there was a little bit of push-back, as the waiter considered this an inconvenience that would take more effort that just charging one (1) card. We all have been going to the Melrose Hotel for decades. The Library servers and waiters are fantastic. They hustle, and ensure that guests are served promptly. The service in the Landmark is mediocre. We do have to convey that the staff in the Landmark are wonderful people, and provide warm hospitality. We just wish they were more timely and aware.
This is my first “go to” place for a business breakfast meeting.
I wasnt told there was gratuity added so I double tipped. Food was cold. After telling the employees it was our anniversary and we were married there nobody seemed to care. Provided for a terrible experience.
We always enjoy our experience at the Melrose but it is gotten a bit pricey.
Fabulous experience for Father's Day breakfast on Sunday!
