Way over rated, way over priced...plenty of good cheap tamale in this town

The tamales are dry, and way too much salt.Not authentic.The customer service is terrible.

I selected this vendor due solely to the overwhelmingly positive reviews that I read on Yelp. Sadly, I did not experience the same amazing experience that everyone else did, and I wanted to provide my experience in the event that most of these other reviews were fake. I placed an online order for Christmas Eve tamales. This vendor has a limited supply, so it is a first-come first-served and you have to pre-reserve your tamales approximately 5 days in advance. Due to the limited supply, the website reservation system sold out in about 15 minutes. I ordered 1 dozen pork, 1 dozen chicken, half-dozen jalapeno cream cheese, and half-dozen veggie. The vendor provided explicit instructions that pickup would occur between 1pm and 4pm on Christmas eve. Fast forward to the day of pickup .... i arrive after driving all the way out to the pickup location to find that nobody was there. I called the vendor and was notified that my tamales would not be ready until 6pm. If I had not called, I would have had no way of knowing that the pickup changed. This was a terrible lack of communication on their end. Being Christmas Eve, I gave them the benefit of the season and rearranged my day so that I could accommodate the vendor for a later pickup. At 6pm, there is a line around the pickup location that is very long. Evidently nobody's tamales were ready at the original agreed upon time. I am still trying to keep spirits high because it is Christmas Eve after all. After waiting for approximately 40 minutes, the vendor tells me that he decided not to make any veggie tamales and that he didn't have my full order. I asked him for a replacement because I needed a full 3 dozen tamales for Christmas, and he rudely says that he can't do that and would just refund me. I am livid at this point because I was basically told that my order was not important enough to make even though I went out of my way to accommodate his lack of preparation and timeliness without complaint. The vendor told me that he would issue a refund but no refund has been confirmed by my credit card to date. I was so incredibly disappointed by the poor customer service here, and I will not be returning. I cannot recommend this tamale vendor and would advise you to avoid relying on them if you actually need your tamales on time.

Never got to try their tamales. ordered 5 days in advance. got a call from Victor at 1pm day of pick up Christmas Eve, and said he would deliver them to my house by 6pm as they had system issues. 7pm nothing, 9pm, nothing. I called and texted and each time said he was on his way. finally 10:15pm he said he would bring them by noon the next day. I told him I had family coming at 10am next day, Christmas Day, and they were expecting tamales. So he said he would drop them off in 40 mins. 5 minutes later I got an automated text my order was cancelled. I called him and he said he cancelled because he could not guarantee a delivery time. Very disappointed in the lack of communication! I get things happen but at least let me know, don't leave a customer hanging clueless about their order. First time ordering here and probably last.

Hesitant in buying anything frozen, but not anymore with Becerra 's Tamales. Following its reheating directions to a T, a great meal they make within 20-30 minutes. Absolutely delicious are these Tex-Mex handmade tamales. Plenty of tasty meat or seafood wrapped in their fluffy masa. Mesquite Smoked BBQ Beef being my personal favorite. CHEERS!
