Shake Shack First National Building Downtown Detroit

I truly appreciate their ordering system with touch pads. The cheese fries are amazing, as they use a cheese sauce rather than just melted cheese slices like some places. The double bacon cheeseburger was both juicy and delicious. Staying true to their name, they also serve shakes, and the cookies and cream shake had the ideal consistency and tasted fantastic.

In summary, there are both positive and negative aspects. The food was enjoyable, but it didn’t quite reach the $14 Happy Meal standard of quality. You’ll have to determine for yourself if it’s worth it.

This restaurant is consistently bustling with activity, but unfortunately, the tables were a bit dirty when I visited, so I ended up sitting at one that hadn’t been cleaned after the previous guests. I don’t mind paying $20 for a burger and fries, but I do expect a clean table upon arrival. Overall, I prefer their burgers over those at Burger-Fi, although I still think Five Guys has the advantage. I love the option to customize my toppings to make my meal truly my own!

They mistakenly charged us for a gluten-free bun and offered to refund me the $1. I insisted they didn't need to, but the cashier was determined to make things right. She offered us two scoops of ice cream instead. When she asked if I preferred chocolate or vanilla, I chose chocolate. To my surprise, she returned with two cups of ice cream featuring both flavors, with two scoops in each. It was clear that they were genuinely trying to go above and beyond, and I truly appreciated their effort.

I had a great experience at Shake Shack with their burgers. I'm a big fan of their fries topped with cheese sauce; they are definitely my favorite! The fries have a perfect crunch on the outside while being soft on the inside. The crinkle cut is just fantastic. Dipping the fries in the cheese sauce takes it to the next level!
