Had a nice birthday for millie, food was great and very reasonably priced
Well, what can you say about a restaurant that made our table of 12 leave our seats to walk through to the public bar to get our own drinks. (They said it was too busy with football to serve us at our table and yes we had booked over a week in advance so they knew we were coming. A public bar where the language being shouted out at the TV screen by dozens was something I’ll leave to your imagination (and then add VAT to it. The shouting and language from the public bar came through to the restaurant as if you were in the same room. As for the food? Macaroni Cheese was luke warm on the outside when it arrived and cold in the middle. Sticky toffee pudding hard in the middle which was not eaten. The starters took an hour to arrive and a further hour or so for the mains. The food in general was not worth anything like what they charge for it. Twelve pounds for a burger not worth five. We then asked for some coffee. (only instant a restaurant with no coffee machine. If you like swearing and management who don’t care then you’ll love it. If you like being sidelined in the restaurant for a TV screen in the public bar then you’ll REALLY love it. But if you want a nice meal in a nice restaurant with everything that should go with it, then, all I can say is lose their phone number. (oops, sorry... a restaurant with no phone number as well as no coffee machine. Online bookings only. WHAT ??? PS. a pizza was delivered to the public bar from a local takeaway as we left.... A laughable but WISE move.
TOP NOTCH. How a pub should be; a mix of clientele but everyone friendly. The bar staff are great, and the locals welcoming. Would seriously recommend The Greenbank for anyone passing by.
Price per person: £30–40
