You have to understand what Thai Power is really all about and yes, I realize, it is a bit confusing. Thai Power is owned by a Thai lady. The exterior is Thai. It nominally serves Thai food (IMO the Tom Yum is the best Thai dish on the menu . Yes, the prices on the menu are outdated. Inside, however, it is a Thai owned establishment with a primarily Filipino clientele. They don 't call Daly City Little Manila for nuthin '. Counterintuitively some of the Filipino dishes they serve are very good. Adobong Kambing (Spanish style Goat Stew is delicious IF you like goat. As with Lamb it isn 't everybody 's cup of tea. Lots of Black Pepper, Bay Leaf, and Dark Soy. Mixed Pancit (Bihon, Canton, Shrimp, Chicken, Fish Balls, Lemon Wedges etc. can also be very tasty. Not for the faint of heart, but a dish I dearly love, is the Crispy Pata a deep fried whole pig 's foot. Crispy, greasy, fatty DELICIOUS! It comes with a soy, vinegar, and chopped onion dipping sauce to cut through the fat. Do not order this dish to go. Deep Fried Pig 's Foot does not travel well, it must be eaten fresh out of the fryer. Thai Power is, first and foremost, a Filipino FOB karaoke spot although all are certainly welcome to partake. You have to get it . It makes me feel like I 'm back in Asia. These types of joints are all over the place in Southeast Asia. In Thailand, in the Philippines, wherever. Asia loves karaoke bars, working class Filipinos in particular love to sing and dance. Remember the line from The Beatles ' song A Little Help From My Friends what would you do if I sang out of tune, would you stand up and walk out on me? . Remember those words and you just might appreciate Thai Power for the simple, humble, unpretentious cultural mashup that it is.
Very expensive and not very good customer service. There were no customers dining in and my wife and I still had to wait 30 min for our food. A tofu pad thai cost the same as a shrimp. One bottle of Corona cost 6.00. Save your money and go to a better Thai Dine in.
I had lots of fun and enjoyed the kareoke music. It’s just old songs and lots of requests cause a lot delay for your turn to sing
Let 's put it this way, you might be walking down the street thinking to yourself I need a drink and also I want karaoke, but every place is packed. Well fret not, friend. Thai power will not be packed. And it WILL have karaoke. And it will be amazing.
