Truedan Westlake - Daly City

Craved some milk tea and saw this shop at Westlake. Love that you can substitute the milk with non lactose options plus you can adjust the sugar and ice!

I've had a few items here including brown sugar milk with boba, vanilla soft serve with boba, and the taro drink with boba. All have been tasty and the boba texture has always been very good. It's crazy how boba drinks now approach the $10 range though. Most places make you pay extra for non-dairy milk and extra for boba. I remember when boba/pearls were included in the base price back in the day. I feel so old. I don't drink milk tea often so I can't speak on the quality of their tea.Service is kinda meh? The staff never seem to be happy to be there but they at least answer my questions about the menu. The set up of the place is weird. During covid they had half of the place blocked off. Now they have some shelves partially filled with packaged Asian snacks for sale. Adding comfortable seating and nice tables would make the place more welcoming than it currently is.

Scute little boba place in Westlake. I truly enjoyed their uji matcha latte with mango jelly. The tea had a great matcha taste and it wasn't too sweet. Service was very fast. Their are some benches to sit and chill.

I’ve visited this restaurant about six times, and each time I’ve left with an upset stomach, which I initially attributed to something I ate earlier. However, it felt like an odd coincidence. Yesterday, I experienced a strong wave of nausea after drinking the jasmine tea, which ultimately led to a visit to the emergency room for a severe case of food poisoning—the worst I’ve ever experienced. I won’t be returning to this restaurant; it's incredibly unhygienic and the drinks are overpriced for their mediocre quality.

On a scorching day, I turned to Yelp in search of a refreshing drink to escape the summer heat. Upon arriving, I was welcomed by a spacious and clean atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally patient and polite. I decided to try the fresh milk with brown sugar boba, and it was delightful. The drink was incredibly rich with a bold flavor, and the boba was wonderfully chewy and perfectly cooked. Since that visit, Truedan has become one of my favorite boba places. I highly recommend checking it out!
