It's cozy, intimate, and serves amazing food that is beautifully presented. The walls inside are lined with hundreds of books that diners can peruse while eating. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and dedicated. There are also two outdoor dining areas for those who want to enjoy the beautiful summer days in Maine. Don't hesitate to check this place out!
After half dozen visit in ann’s book bistro it is clear that it is the real bistro deal. a varied, eclectic menu changes with seasonal ingredients and the creativity of the cook. Even the menu classics, such as the bistro berry, are characterized by a beautiful brioche beer and perfectly cooked meat and choice toppings. the bistro salad is a special joy. but if they really want to get the best from a meal there, they choose one of the daily specialties. Pasta dishes are characterized as well as the classic Spanish paella for two (which I eat entirely by myself, selfish as I am). there is a cozy bar on a side of the dining room and the thousands of books that dress up the hall around the room give it a relaxed, comfortable ambiente. the staff is wonderfully friendly and actiw to take care of their experience. there is also a large outdoor dining area, which was built and cleverly decorated by the chef himself and a great place to eat with friends. the only disadvantage could be the prices, but it is hard to complain when the quality is this high and they will never feel short-circuited. highly recommended. rated personally 4.7 stars.
This restaurant in beautiful Damariscotta is a true gem! The service is fantastic, the food is creatively prepared with love, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. While it may not be cheap, the quality is definitely worth the price. The European bistro ambiance adds to the overall wonderful experience.
This restaurant in midcoast Maine is the best. The atmosphere is perfect, the service is professional, the food is excellent, and the portions are generous. It's our favorite restaurant and is a must-visit.
We went for lunch recently at a local friend's suggestion. Nice place, cozy and inviting and an interesting menu. But we were put off by the prices. Seriously, when an upscale sandwich (Croque Monsieur, for ex or a good burger are $23 (no sides) in Damariscotta, Maine... The food was good (though I'm not a fan of saffron on something like the Croque Monsieur- so ask if you don't like it, either my wife's big salad fresh and good (also $23, no meat) no complaints there, just overpriced. (And my beer... $9.25. Great local beer (though don't think it should be served in a Peroni glass )
