Please, stop serving coffee/tea in plastic cups! That?s a little bit too cheesy for the Ritz! Not to mention the fact it?s not ecological and not very healthy either! ??Americans?? wake up, stop drinking from plastic!!! Demand ceramic cups, glass and mugseverywhere you go! If Pete?s coffee and Hidden coffee (in SJC) can serve in ceramics, why not Ritz!!!
This fun little coffee shop is super accommodating and an easy spot to stop with my kiddo. He had an open-faced peanut butter and banana sandwich with honey and coconut. His sandwich was so good, he talked about it quite a bit. They can make the wrapsinto gluten free sandwiches and are very helpful in trying to keep you from becoming sick. I enjoyed their coffee drinks andtheir juices. On my husband's recommendation-avoid the burrito. I'd also avoid the sweet potato hash plate. While pretty, bothlacked flavor. The hash was also in a weird bowl that just didn't work for it. My husband had the steak and eggs, they werefine, but also commented that the bowl made it difficult to eat.
A good restaurant with a great view. Service: Everyone was friendly and professional. No major issues with the service. Sarah and Fatima were pretty awesome! Food: Appetizers/Small Plate We ordered Ceviche, Brussel Sprouts, and Cheese Rolls. Mywife liked them all, but I thought the Brussel Sprouts had a bit too much aioli so it was just too rich. They tasted good, butjust too heavy on aioli. Main Plates We ordered the Scallops and the Prime Rib Steak. I have to first say, this is purely apreference and not a knock on quality. These plates were good, not great. The steak temperature (medium rare) was perfect. TheScallops temperature was perfect. The issue for me was that Scallops didn 't pair well with corn, red peppers, cheese as much asI thought it might. I guess I like more traditional butter, lemon, etc. The steak had a lot going on withmushrooms, chimichurri, mashed potatoes, and chipotle aioli. Again, both were still pretty darn good, just not the most amazingthing we 've ever had. Dessert the GUAVA PIE is AMAZING. Very refreshing, subtle sweet, with some tartness. The churros weregood. They were cooked great. Soft interior crispy exterior, but flavor wise nothing out of this world. The smoked chocolatewith the churros was pretty interesting. Ambiance: There are a million pictures of why this place is beautiful. I 'd definitelysay it 's worth it for dinner to come and enjoy the amazing views. Overall: Go check it out, the combination of service, food, and ambiance make this a 5 star restaurant.
Sadly I wanted to love Raya @ritzcarlton but it was just average for food and service. The location and ocean view are outstanding. Positives: Both the cocktails, a riff on the MaiTai and a Passion fruit mojito, were very good if a little pricey($18) and my dining companion enjoyed his chicken sandwich. Absolutely stunning views of the Pacific overlooking Salt CreekBeach. Not so positive: The asian style chicken salad was drowning in dressing...I almost sent it back and in hindsight Ishould have as the dressing overpowered every aspect of the salad. In addition, the truffle manchego fries were underwhelmingand, to me, undercooked. Service was adequate but not typical Ritz or St Regis service.
