Dolce Danbury

We love Dolce's. The food and the service is wonderful! We started with the brussel sprouts appetizer and they were delicious. We then had the eggplant parmigiana and the hanger steak (which was the best we ever had)! Can't wait to dine there again.

We made New Years reservation for three for a table but unfortunately got seated at the bar area. It took us over 25 minutes to even get a drink order and there seemed to be a lot of confusion on the staffs end. We ended up getting a different waiter, who was very nice. They put bread on the bread with oil and hummus (which we thought hummus was an odd choice but the bread was good). We ordered calamari for an appetizer which tasted good. The salad for the entrées were extremely small and drenched in salad dressing. The food came out pretty fast but my salmon had no taste to it at all. Also my friend waited for a very long time for steak sauce and had asked more than one person for. It was a limited menu for New Years but they didn’t post it anywhere online which was frustrating. Overall, it was a very disappointing overpriced experience.

Was way too loud in there. The entertainment should not use speakers. Could not here my other guest during dinner.

The service was very good and the servers were quite attentive. However, we would have preferred to sit in the dining room rather than the patio. The heaters and fire place in the patio were just too much even though it was cold out and all of the walls are glass in this small patio area. We were not happy sitting in this patio area.

I visited this restaurant during the COVID-19 pandemic, before closures were implemented. I was impressed by the outstanding service and delicious food that helped brighten our spirits. It has quickly become one of our top choices when deciding where to dine out.
