Green Island Chicken Grill - Danbury

This is by far one of the best Jamaican food spots I have done. the jerk is spicy hot, the ochsen tail is nice with a large sauce cooked and comes with two sides (we have steamed cauliflower and rice with exalted), the callaloo was phenomenal as an additional side, chicken soup was delectable as well as very rich and high seasoned (fit for every day,) curry hühnerpatty was on the sweet curry we also have a beef patty with cheese on kokosbrot. the kokabrot was great and the bark patty had a good taste, we were not a fan of the cheese used and would not decide next time for a cheese. Overall, eating was spicy, as we like and hoped. it is so great to know that we can count on this place if we have a hanker for Jamaicans. the lady who works was sweet as can and very polite. the food was prepared for time and great hot temperature when we came home. for the rest of tomorrow!

The eating was terrible, especially without taste, I ordered a series of the **** and they only 4 small pieces and a order of half-whn and they only 3 pieces in, what should be half-whn, I would never order everything in my life again, what was the only good that the one who took the order was very friendly.

Heard this place stores frozen meal times and then it warms up! is that really true? I'm afraid to eat here.

Had a taste for meat patties ordered both chicken and beef) both were fresh and amazing with flavor. Escoveitch Fish Dinner $23.99) was worth every penny…made with the perfect amount of fresh onions and peppers. Side order of callaloo was the perfect accompaniment. So many items on the menu will continue to visit.

I'm all for the support of black owned businesses but not at the expense of poor time management. I placed an order via telephone at 7:15pm. I was told the order will take 30 minutes to complete. I arrived at the restaurant at 7:54pm and followed posted instructions to stay in my vehicle and call the store. I called to inform them I had arrived to pick up an order I placed over the phone. I was told the order would take 30 minutes. I informed her I placed the order over 30 minutes ago. She communicated with someone in the store and returned to tell me my order will take 5 minutes longer and I must leave my card at the door to pay. Reluctant to leave my card cuz I was unclear if this 5 minutes would turn into 15 minutes, I decided to wait until my food was complete before I paid. She came to the door 4 minutes later and told me I had to pay first because that's how it's done there, and closed the door. I left without the food. Even orders placed on UberEats take unreasonably long. I won't be spending my money here anymore.
